My Big Blog Exchange was sponsored by Hostelling International (HI) - a global hostel association with hostels in over 90 countries. During my stay in Asia I was lucky enough to stay in 4 of them.
Two of the hostels in Singapore really stand out in my experience – Hangout Mount Emily and Costa Sands Resort, Sentosa. Each of them welcomed and helped me with whatever I needed to make my stay comfortable and provided me with clean rooms to rest my head. I was pleased there was free wifi in all 4 of the hostels and Asian breakfast, consisting of noodles! Only the hostel in Malaysia offered fresh watermelon by way of something a little healthier.
Hangout Mount Emily
Is ideally located by Little India in Singapore. I shared a room with 5 other girls, it was comfortable, perfectly air conditioned and with an en-suite shower and washroom. It boasts a stunning roof terrace overlooking the city.
Costa Sands Resort, Sentosa
Located right above the Siloso Beach on Sentosa with gorgeous, rustic beach huts, rooms in the main resort building, a beautiful swimming pool, BBQ pits and a roaming peacock to keep me company. The staff were delightful and their island way of life seemed to filtrate through the resort, making everyone feel relaxed. They looked after me, giving me tissues and water when i wasn't feeling 100% and arranged for a transfer back to the mainland. They taught me how to say goodbye in Malay and Chinese and told me I would always be welcome with big smiles on their faces.
Costa Sands, Downtown East
Thank you
I can’t thank HI enough for the wonderful experience to stay in these hostels and travel Asia. They were the cleanest hostels I have ever stayed in. I will certainly recommend to my friends and come back to stay again.
HI also sponsored my trip in terms of arranging the most wonderful itinerary for me and ensuring I saw all the highlights of Singapore and Malaysia. Josephine, Noh and Mimi were invaluable in making my blog exchange what it was and I will remember forever all the effort they put in.
The Big Blog Exchange was a dream opportunity for me and I hope my readers enjoyed following my experience and feeling they were a part of it too. Many people travel to Singapore as the gateway to Asia so now they can know for certain, HI is the right choice in a play to stay.
None of this would have been possible with the judging panel selecting me in the first place. Scarlett and Brianda organising the whole project all those in the Big Blog Exchange Head Office who have been involved and supported the project. Thank you so much.
Finally, thanks to all of you for reading my posts and supporting my blog. It is a dream come true to be able to write about the things I find interesting and for other people to enjoy it. Watch this space for more adventures!
